Congratulations
Today is the day
Another great walk run
But on your own today

As pockets of cloud hang low in the valley
As butterflies twist and turn in your belly
Take a moment, take a breath
All to do is right foot then left

All alone this time you run
Fret not, want not, be not glum
For by ourselves we learn so much
Like fear and joy and grit and such

You might think I can't, I shan't
You might think of all you aren't
You might think I will not - well do not!
If you think like that, then you go not

The hill is big but you can climb
The path is long but you will find
If you think you can, then you can
Think not I aren't but all I am

Oh the places you can go
With a little more yes and a little less no
Oh the places you can see
Like just how brilliant nature can be

It might be hard, it might hurt
You might fall face first into dirt
Just get back up and get back going
What can happen there is no knowing

Except to start and you will see
The best doesn't come so easily
Time is pressing but feel not pressure
The sky is clear, good is the weather

Can't be tardy
Can't be late
Only so long
The boat will wait

When time and place and mind is still
With less haste more speed at your will
Scrambled legs up rocky slopes
Don't let the pace dash your hopes

Oh the places you can go
When you let the what-if within you grow
Oh the places you can see
When you let the why-not within you free

Most beautiful walk in the world they say
Turns out they're right, it'll blow you away
Just when you think you've no more awe
The Milford Track has more in store

A sprint to the finish - bang on time
A toast to the day, in the spa with wine
When sweet embrace of slumber finds you
With dreams of today and all you can do

There will be no hesitation
There will be no reservation
Now you know you know you can
Now you think of all I am
